Retreats

Many groups of 20 or more choose Great Camp Sagamore—a  place apart where quiet reigns (we have no cell service and no TV) and ideas flow!

Sagamore sleeps 70 in summer, 60 in autumn.  There are four meeting rooms seating 20-150; one has a working fireplace. Groups that book 60 have exclusive use of camp.  We provide wi-fi in our conference building.

Please don’t bring water to Great Camps Sagamore. Ours is excellent. Beer and wine are available for purchase.

Outings to the Adirondack Museum or for a special hike can be arranged.   Meals are sumptuous buffets with snacks, etc. arranged. We can also book a meal for your group aboard the W.W. Durant that cruises Raquette Lake.

Annual week-long retreats are the New York State Art Teachers Association (NYSATA) workshop in August and the Upstate History Alliance (Sagamore Institute for museum directors, educators, curators) in September. These retreats have a meeting space assigned and use several break-out rooms.

Now in its 12th year, the annual Arts and Healing Retreat provides contacts and camaraderie for women with chronic diseases. It is supported, in part, by the Susan G. Komen Foundation and is led by Fran Yardley and Peggy Lynn.

For 16 years, Sagamore has been the site of Skidmore College’s freshman outdoor orientation program called SCOOP.

$139pp/night includes double occupancy room, meals, use of trails, canoes, campfire area, meeting space/s and complimentary tour. Not-for-profit groups save 10%. The coffee is always on!
