Instructor: Professional Photographer Dave Scranton
Learn how to get the best pictures inside, and outdoors, with your digital camera while enjoying a 3 night stay including accommodations, all meals from check in Tuesday evening until departure on Friday morning, and a guided tour of historic Great Camp Sagamore.
Dave Scranton will help you harness technology and capture great photos at wonderfully scenic Great Camp Sagamore, a National Historic Landmark. Hands-on classes cover digital cameras & controls and how to take better pictures. Explore your digital camera's settings and master basic photography skills such as framing, focus and exposure to improve your photos.
You will learn methods of transferring your photos from camera to computer or printer as well as basic storage, organization & editing options. Class discussions include the many options for printing, posting and sharing your images.
While at Sagamore, the Adirondack wilderness will inspire creative expression, while guided tours of Sagamore's distinctive buildings will offer unique architectural and structural shot opportunities. Participants may also enjoy the performances of visiting Adirondack artisans, canoeing on Sagamore Lake and hiking in the surrounding Forest Preserve. Trails vary in length and difficulty; the popular Sagamore Lake trail is 3.5 miles and relatively flat.
Participants must bring a digital camera with batteries, memory card and camera user manual. If you own a laptop computer bring it along as well with your camera's patch cord (USB cable) and software (discs) that came with the camera.
Remember, every camera is different! We recommend reviewing your camera user's manual to become familiar with the camera controls before your trip, if possible. It will also help if you have basic computer knowledge of how to create and find files, folders, etc.
Everyone is welcome - even those with no computer experience or those who are buying a new camera on the way to Sagamore.
What to bring:
- Digital Camera with Battery & Memory Card
- Extra Battery or Batteries & Charger (You can't buy batteries or memory cards within miles of Sagamore)
