Internships

internships at camp sagamore

A Summer or Fall Internship at a National Historic Landmark can provide upper division college students and graduate students with valuable historic interpretation experience as a public tour guide.  Gain practical knowledge in outdoor education by working with our grands-program staff, use your management degree in our bookstore or your hospitality degree in our inn-keeping office.

You may be a good match for Sagamore if you enjoy living in a close community and are willing to wear many hats.  Expect to work part-time in your field & part-time in community service in exchange for room, board, & stipend.

Historic Interpreters can expect a seminar on Wednesday evenings to discuss current Adirondack Park issues (Please scroll down to view Internship descriptions for Historic Interpreters).

Outdoor program interns work under a certified outdoor educator and learn best teaching practices for a wide range of ages.

Management and hospitality interns work closely with administrators who help them deal with the public and issues of public relations.

Interns have single occupancy housing and receive all meals when working. There is also a $150/week stipend.  It is not necessary to have a car.

To Apply: By April 1, email Cover Letter, Resume, and Titles/Telephone contacts of 3 references to Dr. Michael Wilson, Assoc. Director
