With such a diverse labor pool and continued financial support, Sagamore has moved from buildings with few electrical outlets to the comfort of a fully modern facility. A new 1,000 foot underground primary service was installed with upgraded amperage and transformer. Additionally, thousands more feet of secondary distribution to over 20 building was completed. Building wire and life safety systems have been installed and continue to be upgraded.

Besides the much-needed electrical work the workers volunteer their time and talent to skillfully cut trees and provide us with firewood, carpentry projects, painting and gardening. They keep the gravel roads and trails around the lake in shape, and help with the never ending need for cleaning, polishing, maintaining and all the other chores at camp. When the work is done, volunteers relax in the beauty of the Adirondack back country, make new friends, and strengthen old friendships over dinner and a campfire.
| "Even though it is a ‘work’ weekend it feels like more of a retreat. The people are great and the environment is addicting!" Martha M |
| "From the first time I volunteered at Great Camp Sagamore over 10 years ago, it has owned a piece of my heart. I volunteer because it means a lot to me to have a place like Sagamore available for the enjoyment of generations to come. It is a wonderful piece of history that lives on thanks to the work and donations of volunteers and members; it is an honor to be a part of that history" Debbie T |
